Prayer and Vision – 7/21/16

Can it really be July 21st?  Didn’t we just have graduation ceremonies, finish the last day of school and start summer vacation?  And now July is WAY, WAY more than half over and before you turn around again we’ll see the school buses picking up kids, see the school zone flashing lights (hopefully before we see the flashing lights on top of the car right behind us), and summer will be over!

Don’t Be Afraid

 
In the Old Testament book of 2 Kings, there is an amazing story that concerns Elisha, the prophet of God.  We learn that the king of Aram is at war with Israel.  Every time the king of Aram plans to attack Israel, Elisha sends word to the king of Israel to let him know where and when Aram is going to attack.  He knows because God shows him.

Incredible Promises


Are we really ready to receive the incredible promises that God has for us?  Are we willing to believe that God has something for us that would go so far beyond what we could even “ask or imagine”?  
 
I have a book that I have referenced from time to time entitled The Kneeling Christian written by “An Unknown Christian” that challenges me each time I pick it up.  There is a quote in it that I read this morning that hits me again in this area of the incredible promises of God.
