Don’t Be Afraid

In the Old Testament book of 2 Kings, there is an amazing story that concerns Elisha, the prophet of God.  We learn that the king of Aram is at war with Israel.  Every time the king of Aram plans to attack Israel, Elisha sends word to the king of Israel to let him know where and when Aram is going to attack.  He knows because God shows him.

Incredible Promises

Are we really ready to receive the incredible promises that God has for us?  Are we willing to believe that God has something for us that would go so far beyond what we could even “ask or imagine”?
I have a book that I have referenced from time to time entitled The Kneeling Christian written by “An Unknown Christian” that challenges me each time I pick it up.  There is a quote in it that I read this morning that hits me again in this area of the incredible promises of God.

Effective Prayer 5/11/16

Good morning,
16 The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with.

17 Elijah, for instance, human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn’t rain, and it didn’t – not a drop for three and a half years.

18 Then he prayed that it would rain, and it did. The showers came and everything started growing again – James 5:16b-18 The Message.
